In 2007 the Scottish poet, Donny O'Rourke wrote a sequence of poems in response to a series of images by Harry Magee. The poems take the motif of a single, lit window at night and weave narrative, lyric and dramatic monologues around the imagined nighthawk occupants within. One Light Burning, published by Bonny Day Books, was short-listed for the 2008 Callum McDonald Memorial Award for Scottish Pamphlet Poetry. It consists of 14 poems and 8 images.
In 2009 the poems were then recorded as a song cycle, composed and performed by Dave Whyte.
